Rev. Ike and the Law of Attraction

While listening to a Neville Goddard speech on YouTube, I noticed the list of related videos in the column on the right hand side of the screen. Three of the 20 videos listed were sermons by Reverend Ike (Reverend Frederick J. Eikerenkoetter II). As a child of the 60s, I was introduced to Reverend Ike through African American AM radio programs on Sunday. If his sermon happened to be on the aire, we quickly switched the station, searching instead for popular music. Rev. Ike was dismissed as a “quack preacher” who only cared about money. My family and friends never listened to Reverend Ike. I never questioned it and hence grew up the same beliefs. Today, I took the time to listen to Reverend Ike and was both surprised and saddened. I listened to many of his sermons on YouTube and found that much of what he was sharing in the 60s and thereafter were ideas that I now believe and the world embraces with complete conviction.
