Overcoming Fear

Fear is an enigma in that it is an emotion that is mysterious, puzzling, or difficult to understand. The paradox is that being cured of fear is not accomplished by focusing on fear. It is accomplished by focusing upon the characteristics present in the absence of fear. Pardon me if I sound confusing. Let me explain. Walking into a dark room, the first thing one does is reach for the light switch because darkness will flee when light is present. Darkness is literally the absence of light. In this puzzle, fear is darkness. Light is self-discipline, faith and self-worth. Without self-confidence, self-esteem, and self-awareness (of your intrinsic value), fear is the indomitable beast. Teaching others the necessary steps to bridge an abyss between darkness and light, self-doubt and self assurance, is not my specialty. Entrepreneur: a person who starts a business and is willing to risk loss in order to make money. The definition of risk will not allow entrepreneur and fear to be spoken in the same breath without acknowledging that it s an oxymoron. False expectations appearing real, regardless of how painful it is “in the first person”, is still an erroneous projection into the future. Entrepreneurs operate in the present tense. Managing risk is an entrepreneur s job description. Thus, managing risk and fear are incongruent. Assessing the possibility of future events must not include anxiety if good decision-making is the goal. A novice is foolish to expect to cover all future contingencies. Rev. Ike and the Law of Attraction

While listening to a Neville Goddard speech on YouTube, I noticed the list of related videos in the column on the right hand side of the screen. Three of the 20 videos listed were sermons by Reverend Ike (Reverend Frederick J. Eikerenkoetter II). As a child of the 60s, I was introduced to Reverend Ike through African American AM radio programs on Sunday. If his sermon happened to be on the aire, we quickly switched the station, searching instead for popular music. Rev. Ike was dismissed as a “quack preacher” who only cared about money. My family and friends never listened to Reverend Ike. I never questioned it and hence grew up the same beliefs. Today, I took the time to listen to Reverend Ike and was both surprised and saddened. I listened to many of his sermons on YouTube and found that much of what he was sharing in the 60s and thereafter were ideas that I now believe and the world embraces with complete conviction.
